Call for Participation
2026 Academia Sinica Geospatial Forum
The 2026 Academia Sinica Geospatial Forum aims to further promote academic exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). We cordially invite scholars, researchers, and students interested in GIS, spatial information, artificial intelligence (AI), and related fields to participate in this one-day international forum.
This year’s forum is honored to welcome Prof. Shih-Lung Shaw, a U.S.-based GIS expert, Prof. Kwang Woo Nam, Honorary President of the Korean GIS Society, and Prof. Tomoki Nakaya, Vice President of the GIS Association of Japan. Together with Prof. Jung-Hung Hung, President of the Taiwan Geographic Information Society, they will engage in a roundtable discussion addressing the current status, emerging trends, and practical experiences of GIS development in Taiwan, the United States, Japan, and South Korea, fostering international perspectives and in-depth academic dialogue.
In addition, distinguished scholars from Taiwan in the fields of humanities, architecture, civil engineering, and related disciplines will present their latest research成果 and discuss future directions. The forum aims to examine the effects of artificial intelligence (AI) on Geographic Information Science (GIScience) and its potential to drive future innovations.
