Graduation Requirements

1. A minimum of 24 credits of graduate-level courses. All of the courses are selective, you should talk with your advisor before you take the course.
2. At least two from four core courses (i.e. Environmental Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biological Principles) have to be completed.
3. The PhD thesis should be proposed and succeeded the oral defense.
4. Qualifying Examination, English certificate and four semesters of the Department Seminar (4 semesters) are compulsory.

★Seminar must be choose the right course number, at least 4 semester seminar is require.

P5101 for 1^st of PhD, P5102,P5105 for 2^nd of PhD, P5019,P5003 for 3^rd and above of PhD.

博士班畢業學分規定24學分，包括:

1. 專業選修科目至少24學分以上。
2. 本系四科核心課程(環工數學、物理、化學、生物原理)中選課兩科以上。
3. 專題討論每學期必修。(至少4學期)
4. 博士論文12學分及專題討論4學期不包括在畢業學分內。

Other:

★Non-Department of Environmental Engineering graduate student, at least have to take 4 courses from the following 7 courses offered from Department of Environmental Engineering. If those courses are not taught in English, relevant graduate-level course can be as substitutes:

• Applied Mechanics or Mechanics of Materials            ü   Fluid Mechanics (1)
• Laboratory of Environmental Analysis                   ü  Environmental Engineering Design
• Water Supply Engineering or Wastewater Engineering      ü   Air Pollution Control Engineering
• Solid Waste Engineering

★Department of Environmental Engineering graduate student, apply for credit transfer within one month.

★Complete the Chinese Classes for Foreign Student (CFS) offered by National Cheng Kung University Chinese Language Center, at least 2 semester. Before enrollment, if the existing language (in) paper shows that (2) may be exempted from taking.

外校(系)考入本所如以前未曾修習以下課程，需補修。

1. 應用力學或材料力學
2. 流力(一)
3. 環境分系與實驗
4. 環境工程設計
5. 水處理工程或衛生工程
6. 空氣污染工程
7. 固體廢棄物工程

外籍生需補修上述7門中選修4門基礎課程，如未有英語授課，得採修習碩博士班開課相關課程抵免承認6學分。

另須參加文學院華語中心「中文特別班」免費中文學習課程2學期修課證明，入學前若已有語文證明則可免修。

English certificate:

1. The score of IBT is equal to or higher than 71.
2. The score of new TOEIC is equal to or higher than 750.

英文能力證明:

1. 托福iBT TOEFL71 分(含)以上
2. TOEIC 新多益測驗750分(含)以上。

Qualifying examination

★Students in the PhD program wishing to advance to candidacy must first pass the Qualifying Examination, which will be held twice every year.

★Qualifying examination should be finished before the start of their 3^rd academic year.

Candidate of doctoral degree require

★Candidate of doctoral degree should be the primary author of at least two journal articles listed in SCI or EI. The articles should be parts of his/her doctoral dissertation.

★Prior to thesis examination, at least two international journal publications with first authorship are required.
