[TSMC–NCKU Joint Research Center Announcement] The First Round of Applications for the 2026 TSMC Ph.D. Scholarship Is Now Open and Will Close on 2025/10/30
Since 2020, TSMC has established the TSMC Ph.D. Scholarship to encourage outstanding students to pursue Ph.D. degrees in semiconductor-related fields. The program also aims to foster top-tier industry-academia collaboration with university professors, enhancing the quality of key talent and R&D capabilities in Taiwan’s semiconductor industry, and continuously promoting the development of advanced technologies.
We are now announcing the application details for the first round of the 2026 TSMC Ph.D. Scholarship. Eligible applicants are those who:
- Hold Republic of China (Taiwan) nationality,
- Are enrolled in semiconductor-related departments at domestic universities for doctoral studies, expected to begin in 2026 (including those in the application process),
- Are current master’s students planning to pursue a Ph.D., or first-year Ph.D. students,
- And have a recommendation from their academic advisor.
Scholarship details (subject to TSMC’s official announcement):
- Financial support of NT$500,000 per year during the Ph.D. program, for up to 5 years.
- Mentorship by senior TSMC executives, helping students understand the industry, technology development stages, and challenges.
- Internship opportunities at TSMC during the study period.
